Special thanks to Mark Riccioni for his car.
Basically I bought the car standard about six months ago, despite having 50K miles on the clock and despite being a Rotary it still managed to cane through 14,000 miles of hard daily use before I decided to dash it up with aftermarket bits.
Anyways! Having been badgered by Mr Lex to stop fannying about and start drifting it I decided to bite the bullet and get my over to a DWYB day, albeit doing a few bits in the process.
Next up were a set of coilovers. Wasn't fussed about being brand new, just wanted 'em stiff and adjustable so picked up a set of Cusco height/dampening coilies for cheapy cheap:
Being too poor for decent tyres and figuring i'd only dash 'em anyways, bought some part worn 225/40/18s for the rear and 225/35/18s for the front, stretched just about enough!
Seeing as RX7s seem to look sweet without a spoiler, the standard fugly unit was ditched in favour of feck all:
Then the wheels were painted, 'Takata Green' well, as close as I could find which I think turned out to be a Hyundai colour haha.
All what was left was to bolt it all back together, wind down the coilovers, rivnut the Atomic Rex side skirts and an RE-style diffusor i'd picked up to see how it looks:
And that's basically where i'm at now. Hoping to get along to either the 29th or 13th May DWYB providing the car's not blown up, and give it yet more death
So I err, decided to get a new exhaust for it... well, 'tip'.
Pretty simply, using a typical bung for a 4in tailpipe we made up two silly-long pieces of tube, welded 'em to the bung allowing it to be put on and taken off with two 10mm screws.
