The Mini Restoration Project.
Hey so from now onwards i'm gonna use this blog as a platform for me show you guys the restoration step by step.. i'll try to make it as interesting as possible and hopefully you'll all enjoy it.. so lets's start.. I'll post mostly pictures and then give a description at the bottom..
The engine kinda looks empty at that part..
The Manifold and carburetor removed for overhauling.
Different angle.
All parts removed..
New Spring Coils to replace the outdated bush suspension.
The carburetor in pieces after intense 4 hour cleaning..
It's silver now, used to be black with grease and oil..
The manifold cleaned and sprayed silver..
sprayed with Toa High Heat Paint.. 650 degrees celcius..
The new gaskets all changed for manifold and carburetor..
Another look.. yes thats a gas pipe being used as a vacumm hose..
At the moment the car feels great after all the work done, i also changed the accelerator cable as it was getting jammed.. now the throttle response is smooth and immediate.. the next step is to send the car to Hot Hatch Motorworks who is a specialist in Mini's and old cars to get the suspension all sorted out.. Thats the coils and all the bushes and mountings in the car done.. Also i'm gonna overhaul the top half of the engine as the valve shims are worn out.. 24 January is the date.. so till the next time.. Thanks for viewing..
